Boston Scally Co. was founded in 2014 with a single, focused mission: revive the American scally cap. Boston is the right city for it — the cap was on every Irish dockworker's head a century ago. Their cuts are tight and modern, the cloth is good wool, and the linings are usually some kind of statement print.
The hook is the constant collaboration drops: officially licensed Red Sox, Bruins and Celtics caps, plus city-themed editions for Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and beyond. The result is closer to a streetwear brand than a heritage hatter — limited drops, waitlists, the works — but the underlying cap is well made and the sizing is consistent.
Buy here if you want a cap that's clearly contemporary American rather than imported-Irish. Sports fans will find this is one of the very few places to get a properly made team cap that isn't a baseball cap.
